Grab these FREE fall themed, cut and paste Double Digit Multiplication Worksheets. They are a fun way to get children multiplying 2 digits by 2 digits.
We are heading into the month of November and it is almost time for some Turkey time. And as much as I love turkey and ALL the sides that go with it, I’m doing Heathy Wages to help lose weight. And since I don’t want to lose, I will be monitoring my eating.
But that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy all things turkey in the blogging world!
With dreams of turkey and everything else, I’ve created this simple Double Digit Multiplication Worksheets. It gets children working on multiplying two-digit numbers by two-digit numbers with the added fun of cutting and pasting.
Prep- Work for Double Digit Multiplication Worksheets
There really isn’t any prep-work for these pages, but I did want to mention one thing.
You will need to print pages 4,6, and 8 for each child.
But for pages 5, 7, and 9 you will only need to print one for every two children. Once they are printed, cut them in half so that each child receives a set of answers.
What to do?
The Double Digit Multiplication Worksheets are very easy to use.
- First, they cut out the answers (pages 5, 7, and 9.)
- Next, they solve the problems.
- Finally, the glue the answers into the blanks!
2 Digit by 2 Digit Multiplication
There are so many different ways that a child can solve a double-digit multiplication problem. I know that many of us were only taught the traditional way, but that may not be the best way for your child.
As a classroom teacher, I taught two or three different ways to my children…. and they got to decide which one was there preferred method.
I have done the same with my third grader. And after being taught traditional, partial products, and lattice, the little guy has chosen to do his problems using the lattice method.
So I would love to encourage you, if you have students who are struggling with the traditional method give another method a try. Even if they aren’t struggling, I always encourage teaching partial products, just for the fact that it builds number sense…and most people who solve problems in their head do it this way.
Here are step by step instructions for each method:
