Boom Cards. They are my new favorite digital tool. I love that I can make them to use as a quick review for whatever we are working on. My kids love them, I love that they are self-checking and that they can be done independently.

I wanted to review numbers 0 – 5 with my little girl, and so these Boom cards became a great counting activity for her. They are also a great counting activity for preschoolers or kindergarteners.

## Prep-Work

Boom Cards do not require any prep-work except for assigning them to your student or students. Once you check-out, they will automatically be added to your library.

Then you can assign them to all your students or to just those that need a little extra counting work.

## Before Playing:

I love to add reading to our math lesson. And this new counting book from Math Geek Mama is a wonderful place to start. It is adorable with its cute rhyming language and bright colorful pictures, but it also teaches counting and number Subitizing (seeing and knowing a quantity without counting)….much like the Boom cards are meant to do.

It is a fun book, that is a wonderful way to work on numbers.

## Counting Activity for Preschoolers:

Now it is time to get started with these Boom Cards.

Just like we talked about above, subitizing is helping children to be able to know a quantity without counting. Working with 10 frames, dice, and even tally marks help our children begin this process.

And this counting activity for preschoolers is perfect for subitizing because they have the following:

1. Ten Frames
2. Fingers
3. Dice
4. Monsters to Count
5. Tally Marks

It ended up being such a great review, and I loved that after a few tries, my daughter was able to quickly work her way through the slides!

Enjoy!
