If you are outside of the US or just prefer TpT….you may purchase this product at my TpT Store.
This product will help children understand fractions denominator and numerator.
It has five fraction activities to help children learn to recognize fraction models and parts of set as well as develop a better understanding of a fraction’s denominator and numerator.
Fractions Denominator and Numerator Worksheet
This is a great introduction to fractions. Using pattern blocks and colored pencils the students explore fractions. They begin by focusing on what a numerator is and then focusing on denominators.
Clip Cards for Parts of a Set
These clip cards help children realize that not all fractions are part of a whole, but also part of a set. Each clip card ask the children to find the fractional number of birds that are a certain color. They then place a clothes pin next to their answer.
Apple Bump Game For Parts of A Set
This game allows children to further explore parts of a set. As children look at a basket of apples they must determine the numerator and denominator each apple in the basket. Students will draw a card with a fraction on it and then place a block on the basket that it represents.
Fidget Spinner Game to help Children recognize Fractions and their Fraction Models
Children love fidget spinners and if those gadgets can help them learn fraction numerators and denominators I’m all for it. The children spin the spinner, read the fraction they landed on, and then move to that fractional model on the game board.
X and O Game for Recognizing fractions with Models and Number Lines – option to introduce equivalent fractions.
My children love Tic-Tac-Toe and this game is similar to it. The children look at a board similar to a Tic- Tac-Toe board and choose the spot they want to cover up. The catch is they must them find the fraction model that matches the fraction they want to cover up. If they choose wrong…whoops…they lose a turn. There are fraction models and number lines available to play with. Thier are also cards with equivalent fractions for later use.
