**Step 2**: Now start the subtraction. First, subtract the oneâ€™s place numbers. But it is impossible to subtract 8 from 2. So, borrow 1 as 10 from 1 adjacent to the 8. Add the 10 with 2. Now it becomes possible to subtract 8 from 12.

**Step 3**: You will get 4 as a result of this first subtraction.

**Step 4**: Now, subtract the borrowed 1 from the 8 of the minuend. You will get 7.

**Step 5**: Subtract the subtrahend 1 from the new minuend 7. You will get the result 6.
