# FREE Number Recognition Game For the Numbers 1 – 20

Your preschoolers will love this simple superhero number recognition game. There isn’t any counting involved, just a say the number and then find it.

Learning is not always easy for my little girl. She eventually gets it, but more often than not there is a lot of work before the “ahhh” moment hits.

We are getting so close to having recognizing letters and knowing all their sounds. And the numbers 1- 8 aren’t too bad either. (Those sixes and nines get her!!!)

But as we finish out this year, we are working hard on recognizing teen numbers. Now, most activities involve counting and recognizing the number. But as of right now, combining the two skills is a little difficult. We need to practice counting to 20, and practice on number recognition at different times.

So I decided to create this simple Bingo game that focuses only on number recognition. And since the numbers are written differently there is an added challenge.

## Prep- Work:

With just a little cutting, you will be ready to go.

- First, print off the numbers you want to use and the bingo cards on card stock.
- Next, cut them out and laminate.
- Finally, gather up some game markers and you are ready to go.

## Number Recognition Bingo Game

So there are a few different ways to play this game.

#### Individually

For this method, I highly recommend looking at a Bingo card and only picking out the numbers that are on the card.

Then show the number card to your sweet little one. Next, have them say the number and then find it on their board. When they have three in a row, congratulate them and start on a different board.

Having them get three in a row, helps keep the activity moving and gives them a goal.

And if you have a competitive child, you could set a timer and see if they can get three in a row before the timer goes off.

#### In pairs or a small group:

For this method, have all the number cards out and give each child a different Bingo card.

Pass out a number to each player, and have them say the number aloud. If they say the number correctly, have them look for the number on their card. If it is there, they get to cover it up.

Then pick up all the number cards, and hand out another set of numbers.

Keep doing this until someone gets three in a row or fills their card.

I hope this simple activity helps a little one that is working on number recognition.
